20 years after leaving, I was invited back to my secondary school to give the graduating speech to the young men and women. This week, I've been invited back to my alma mater @regentsunilondon to give the Class of 2021 speech. I find these invites an honour and a humbling experience 🎓

Thanks to @paulburston1 and the team for inviting me to speak at the @rvtofficial on Fri 24th Sept about my writing and first book, Forced Out, which has been shortlisted for a @PolariPrize LGBTQ+ literary award! Always an honour to be invited to these events 📚
I had the honour of visiting the #WarInnaBabylon exhibition @icalondon — I left overwhelmed by the suffering of Black Britain at the hands of the police but also pride with communities around the UK fighting for justice and equality — nicely done ICA, well-balanced — Bravo 👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿

NEVER in a million years did I think someone like me would receive any recognition for writing about my experiences in the Police. I received an MBE from the Queen for writing FORCED OUT and today shortlisted for the first book Polari Prize with 'the best' LGBT+ writers about! 🌈
