As a British guy living in London, I often hear many who come to visit my small island talk of their ‘American Dream‘?

It’s the country they want to get to whatever it takes, with the UK often being the ‘before I get there’ place.

I have many wonderful friends who are American, and I’ve been to New York a few times.

But.

For me as a black and gay man, my American Dream would probably be more of a nightmare.

I’d more than likely get shot than not, as a black man.

And even now with Obamacare, my husband wouldn’t be able to make any health decisions about me because we wouldn’t be federally recognised as partners.

I’d be stuffed, and not in a good way.

NOW Canada, there’s a dream!
