On Tuesday gone, I was walking through London Town when I saw a Big Issue Vendor in front of a Tesco store.
I watched as he carefully opened-up a sandwich on the floor, followed by amazement to see him keep half for himself and give some birds (yes, birds) the other half.
As I continued walking, it reminded me of my childhood being raised in Liverpool.
I can remember that many I knew who had nothing or not much, were always the first to help others – food, and otherwise. It was a REAL community thing.
It might have been a small gesture and to some just silly birds, but, that man gave me hope that although cynical we still fundamentally live in a good world where people want to help each other – even if, with wings.
