Leftie multicultural crap makes Britain Great

The only thing that surprised me about the Twitter tweet of the Tory MP Aidan Burley on Friday evening during the London 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony, was the timing of it and not his thoughts.

I’ve never been a member of a political party and don’t speak for one, but did anyone really expect any less of a comment from a Conservative Party MP?

I wrote an article last year about ‘Immigration: good for multicultural Britain‘ after reading similar comments made in public by Mr Burley’s boss… Prime Minister David Cameron, so can we really blame the former for speaking his mind?

Leadership, is top down.

Britain, like the rest of the world is not what it used to be. I mean, America now has a black President if Mr Burley hadn’t noticed. Women can now vote, well, not everywhere and gay people are free from persecution, well, in the UK anyway – mostly.

Being LGB (Liverpudlian, Gay and Black), I’ve noticed growing-up how easy it is for those whom have never been discriminated against to easily discriminate against others and call those whom celebrate Britain’s diversity ‘leftie multicultural crapists‘.

I have nothing against Mr Burley personally because I do not know him and as I’ve said do not expect any less, but I do take issue with the timing of his tweet which clearly has had ramifications and rightly so.

Britain fort hard to bring the Games of the XXX Olympiad to the UK and used its ‘leftie multicultural crap’, as part of the bidding process. Having secured the games, you then can’t change the rules and go back to something which no longer represents Britain in the 21st Century.

I mean, history is great and I love reading about it but was Mr Burley expecting Danny Boyle to put on Shakespeare’s Othello?

Mr Burley managed to insult many people with his lack of timing (or, was it?), his comment being inappropriate with a capital ‘I’.

Without multiculturalism, there wouldn’t be an Olympic Games.

And, how are those countries like Barbados with Queen Elizabeth as Head of the Commonwealth (and, its Monarch) meant to take this ‘right non-multicultural crap’ view from a member of one of the parties of the British Coalition Government?

Thinking on, without multiculturalism and brown faces there wouldn’t be a Commonwealth.

Without ‘leftie’ views of caring for the most vulnerable in our society, there wouldn’t be a National Health Service.

I’m not naïve to think that many like diversity when it works with multicultural people winning medals for Britain, but when those same people suffer for example discrimination and injustice they don’t want to know.

Those of us whom believe in a diverse society inclusive and not exclusive, should always fight ignorance and intolerance.

On a last thought for me, there’s a reason a leopard cannot change its spots!

This has been a… same opinion, different person, ‘View from the Bottom’.

Enjoy multiculturalism, Max x.
