The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal

This week, I found out that I am to receive a medal for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee 1952 – 2012.

Life is funny, I’ve had my difficulties as a public servant due to my race and sexuality but I am actually quite proud of receiving this as it is for my dedication to public service – which is quite humbling.

I have no doubt that My Mum Annie Maxwell will be VERY proud, as she was when I became a public servant way back in 2001 and as a cadet in two different organisations before that. She adored Her Majesty.

Some things you can change, but one thing I cannot is being born in Britain (Royal Liverpool, that is) and being British.

This has been a… proud occasion, ‘View from the Bottom’.

Enjoy The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Max x.
